Before & After: A Builder-Grade Kitchen Gets A Colour Refresh
Purchased as a second home, this condo was meant to be a comfortable landing place for a grandmother visiting her nearby children and grandchildren.
Open to a full interior transformation, the client had just one design request: a blue kitchen.

Favourite Features
- The quartzite stone slab countertop on the island features a warm grey backdrop with honey tones and blue veining. All of the other kitchen finishes were chosen to complement it.
- Since the kitchen faces the dining nook and living room, the island pendants give the island a better sense of place in the condo’s open floor plan.

- The slimline pendants add sculptural interest without taking up a lot of visual space, allowing the panoramic view of the Elbow River to take centre stage.
- The millwork and the placement of the finishes were designed to disguise many of the awkward “jogs” created by the corner placement of the kitchen and the location of the existing gas lines and HVAC exhaust fan. The overall kitchen design is now more seamless.
