The team behind this backyard makeover turned site constraints into opportunities, combining functionality with aesthetics. The straight lines of the terrace and concrete pool integrate harmoniously with the contemporary architecture of the house. To maintain privacy, the owners opted for an elegant wooden pergola that stretches the width of the house, ensuring a sense of seclusion and natural appeal.

On one side, the steep 10-foot drop from street level was transformed through a series of retaining walls and plentiful plantings of low-maintenance, shade- tolerant ground cover that complement the existing mature vegetation and tree canopy. The result? The monolithic stone walls and steps add a rugged character that respects the lush woodland garden.
