4 Garden Trends From The RHS Chelsea Flower Show

These garden ideas are straight from the world's most renowned flower show.

The RHS Chelsea Flower Show is a annual five-day event held in London, England, that showcases design inspiration, new plants, and garden trends. It's the place to be for learning about the upcoming technology in the world of horticulture.

This year, we saw some completely new ideas for the garden we can't wait to implement, from colour palettes to water access.

Here are four garden trends to try in 2025:

The earth wall

Terracotta borders and stone walls made for some of the most beautiful garden borders at the show. Instead of using traditional edging or fencing, these natural materials bring warmth to the garden and highlight the the colours of the landscape. It gives the feeling of vacation without leaving your backyard.

Moody tones create a soothing space worthy of sitting down to relax. Plums, deep reds, and dark purples are just some of the colours we'll see in the trendiest gardens this summer.

If you're looking for a more interactive experience when walking through your garden, you can try planting all the colours of the colour wheel, like the MS Amlin Peace of Mind Garden. Depending on where you're standing or sitting, you'll see different contrasting colour combinations that will bring out new emotional undertones.

This year's show was all about bringing fun and joy into the garden and encouraging the young to get out and enjoy the outdoors. One way we saw this was through games—like tabletop battleship (pictures above), natural playgrounds, soft grasses for croquet, and even a ride on a train (pictured below).

Whether you use sand as mulch (pictured above) or integrate grates and pathways over and through water, highlighting the natural flow of resources was a big trend this year.

Although harvesting rainwater has been a trend we've seen in the past for large, lush gardens, this year it was made to be a symbol of beauty. Rainchains in the Boodles Raindance Garden created an art installation-like effect, showing we can help the environment and serve beauty as one.
