stunning spaces: fuss hair studio

You know how a scrumptious smell can draw you right into a store or restaurant, whether or not you had any intention of going in? Well, I'm the same way with enticing interiors (hazard of the job, I guess), and Fuss Hair Studio is my latest fantastic find. It wasn't even open the evening I walked by, en route to a dinner date, but its bright yellow door and country-quaint facade caught my attention. The next day, I started Googling "cute hair salons on Queen Street East," and Fuss was one of the first to come up.   [caption id="attachment_24117" align="aligncenter" width="460" caption="photography, rebecca wood"] [/caption]   Voted Toronto's Best Hair Salon in 2013 by Now Magazine's annual readers poll, Fuss is much more than a pretty face - they're formidable experts on hair and, as I discovered when I visited, a ton of fun!   [caption id="attachment_24342" align="aligncenter" width="460" caption="photography, rebecca wood"] [/caption]   But never mind my great new haircut, we're here to ogle the decor....   [caption id="attachment_24345" align="aligncenter" width="460" caption="photography, rebecca wood"] [/caption]   Mix a modern industrial chic loft with a dose of old Parisian glam and country-style elements, and you've got a space that feels at once fashion-forward and casual-quaint.   [caption id="attachment_24348" align="aligncenter" width="460" caption="photography, rebecca wood"] [/caption]   The look is glamorous and engaging, with gorgeous design details awaiting discovery around every corner.   [caption id="attachment_24352" align="aligncenter" width="460" caption="photography, rebecca wood"] [/caption] Oversize mirrors, exposed brick, bold black walls, rough-hewn wood and glitzy gold elements keep your eyes entertained while having your hair done.   [caption id="attachment_24353" align="aligncenter" width="460" caption="photography, rebecca wood"] [/caption]   Isn't there something so satisfying about sitting in a salon that well represents your personal decor style? Maybe because it underscores that they understand my look. Which they absolutely did! (Shout outs to my new stylist, Dana, who gave me a great new 'do, and might actually be more bubbly than me... which I didn't think was possible.)   [caption id="attachment_24354" align="aligncenter" width="460" caption="photography, rebecca wood"] [/caption] When you're between stylists and salons, it can be hard to commit to a new place, but isn't it wonderful when you finally find a new hair studio to call "home"?
