the design annex opens its doors

By:
The Design Annex, a division of the Art Gallery of Hamilton, has opened its doors in the heart of Hamilton’s Arts District at 118 James St. North.     Inside you'll find modern art and homewares from local, Canadian and International designers and artisans, including a number of lamps from Mod Pieces.     Not only is the collection of work that they’ve curated completely covetable, the building itself is stunning. We’re talking soaring ceilings, clad in painted pressed tin panels, wood flooring, exposed brick, wall-to-wall windows with a stained glass transom, and cleverly constructed vignettes.     Not only can you enjoy the space while shopping, but you can also reserve it for your next event.           Your really must visit the space in person to fully appreciate being surrounded by work from so many talented artisans at once. I guarantee you won’t leave empty handed!   Lia Fagan is an interior designer & the creative force behind Mod Pieces, an online boutique, specializing in restyled vintage lighting. When she’s not in her studio, she’s writing about lighting & decor on her blog.
