This Downtown Montreal Hotel Is An Oasis In The Middle Of The City
It's time for a weekend getaway.
Located in the heart of downtown Montreal, staying at Le Centre Sheraton means being close to pretty much everything the city has to offer: shopping, biking along the St. Lawrence, grabbing a coffee or matcha.

When you first enter the 37-floor building, you're instantly greeted with a light-filled lobby and the buzz of downtown goings-on. It seems like every type of person is here—and there's something for everyone. You can grab a seat on a couch or curl up against a window with book and coffee (there's a Starbucks connected to the lobby!), or even pop in a booth if you have to jump on a call.

I quickly got settled in my room—a family suite with enough space to sleep six, a large primary bathroom, a bright living space featuring a dining table with fresh flowers, colourful art and clean furnishings, and even an extra full bath. There was also a small bar with a sink and microwave for easy entertaining and living. Plus, every stay in a suite comes with welcome drinks, made in partnership with the hotel's restaurant, Stanley, and a local brewery.

If you want to grab a bite at Stanley, you'll find it just off the lobby. The restaurant is three stories tall and encased in windows that give it an atrium greenhouse effect—warm, welcoming, and cozy. Grab a seat for breakfast, lunch, aperitivo, or dinner. And, of course, we can't forget brunch. The latest menu offers a selections of sweet and savoury dishes that skew Mediterranean and seasonal. The fig and prosciutto flatbread with goat cheese and honey and the Turkish eggs with Greek yogurt were both a hit, as was the complimentary warm chocolate raspberry scone received upon arriving for the reservation. Brunch is served every weekend starting at 11 a.m. and features a live DJ playing upbeat yet relaxing tunes.

After your meal, it's time to explore. Head over to the sixth-floor outdoor sanctuary, and you'll be transported to a nature-filled oasis in the middle of the city. There is patio seating, hammocks, table tennis, a little library where you can grab a new read, and even a terrace where the hotel holds complimentary yoga and sound healing workshops for guests on the weekend. I was able to attend a sound healing and meditation class, all in English, that had me grounded yet excited for my weekend in Montreal. This programming is part of Le Centre Sheraton's latest offerings, and includes free smoothies, fresh fruit, and juice shots, plus the most calming music you'll ever hear. You'll also find the gym and indoor salt-water pool on the same level, both clean, bright, and well-equipped.

More amenities include the Club Lounge, with complimentary access if you reserve a club-level room. The top-floor lounge offers breakfast from 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and an assortment of snacks and drinks from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. every day. Expect to find fresh fruit, yogurt, eggs, meats, and cheeses in the morning and a DIY charcuterie-style spread in the evening. There is seating for parties of all sizes, and booths, tables, and quieter corners if you're stopping in for a quick bite or for long work meeting—the internet here is Zoom-capable. You get all of this while enjoying breathtaking views of the city—it served me well for a Spritz before my dinner reservation on Saturday night.
The next time you're in Montreal and need a place to land that feels like home, you might want to give Le Centre Sheraton a try.
