christmas tree decorations: my first christmas tree

I was the girl that would take my blanket into the living room at night and sleep beside the Christmas tree. I could never get enough of the sparkly, glittery ornaments, twinkling lights and smell of fresh pine. I'd stare at them from all different angles and find comfort lying in my tree's quiet grandeur. After moving out on my own, I never had my own tree because I didn't have the means to bring a real tree into my (usually) small apartments. And, of course, it HAD to be real for that nostalgic pine scent. This year, however, I finally caved. I finally have a Christmas tree! It's a modest six feet tall, slimmer, artificial pre-lit tree from HomeSense that magically fits perfectly into my bachelorette. Being my first tree, however, means I have to (read: get to!) buy new Christmas ornaments! Bringing me to the ultimate decor question: What will my holiday theme be this year? I've checked out the new holiday decor collections, from classic to whimsical, and have found a very varied selection to choose from. There's one in particular that I have my eye on though... Can YOU guess which one I will choose? [caption id="attachment_19845" align="aligncenter" width="460" caption="{ Photo by Elaine Song }"] [/caption]

1 Home Depot's Arctic Holiday  This new Martha Stewart Living holiday collection uses an icy blue and silver colour palette, mixing modern colours with more traditional shapes and ornaments.

Canadian Tire's Silver Bells Debbie Travis' silver and white collection uses embellishment and texture to add visual interest, from glittery and beaded baubles to fluffy feathered owls.

IKEA's Snomys This IKEA collection has a nostalgic look and feel, from the predominantly red and white colour scheme to the kid-themed ornaments.

4 Canadian Tire's Rainbow Bright This tree screams happy! It's the most colourful and modern line I saw this season and while it's an obvious sell for kids, there's something so bright and cheerful about it you can't help but smile.

So which collection do YOU think I will choose to decorate my first Christmas tree?
