Hotel style: Le Meurice

Natalie Bahadur

Paris' Le Meurice hotel redefines luxury.

There are luxury hotels and then there's Le Meurice, where opulence and comfort collide to create an experience guests will never forget. Ideally situated on rue de Rivoli in Paris, just steps from the Tuileries Gardens and the Louvre, the hotel's expansive lobby greets guests with a divine white and green marble floor and an exquisite collection of antiques and artwork from Sotheby's and Christie's. It's an impressive introduction to a hotel that only gets better, the farther you explore.

"Filtered natural light permeates the public areas, illuminating the ornate decorative elements that make this landmark hotel a one-of-a-kind, gleaming jewel," says Margaux Capdeville, from Le Meurice. "The open reception area affords views of the hotel's three main public spaces: the restaurant Le Meurice, the restaurant Le Dali and the Bar 228. The lobby is definitely Dali-esque, and there are many design elements created by Philippe Starck."
