How to: Make flag garlands

Wave your own flag with this easy project. Simply assemble your budding designers for a fun session of be-the-decorator. Then get creative with paper choices and custom-colour schemes ready for hoisting.

Supplies
white string
construction paper
clear tape or glue
scissors
ruler

Instructions
1 Create a triangle template to the desired size.
2 Trace this flag template onto colour construction paper.
3 Bend the top 1/2" portion of each flag, and then trim the sides so they match up with the triangle’s edges.
4 Determine the finished length of your garland and cut string to match.
5 Place the fold over your string and use glue or Scotch-tape to secure it. Repeat as required, evenly spacing flags until they fill the length of your garland.
