I’m a total sucker for things I can’t have, especially when it comes to designer furnishings, fabrics, wallpapers and accessories. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve found something I love online only to find out that it’s available just through the trade. For those of you who, like me, want to be able to score those goodies on your own, I’ve found an amazing service from world-renowned interior designer Jamie Herzlinger. Called Jamie Shop, this new venture allows you to register as a client and have exclusive access to more than 400 of the top trade-only manufacturers. And, better yet, the shop will guide your purchases from inception to installation. Because I’m a big advocate of mixing high and low, I insist that your shopping source list include a few vintage shops. Some of my favourite haunts are online and prove that glamorous furniture can be had at a reasonable price. If you’re a fellow Hollywood Regency lover, you must take a look at Palm Beach Regency and Circa Who. And, of course, no shopping session would be complete without a browse around Etsy. Check out The Other Palm Frond, Fabulous Mess and Green Zebre. Hollywood Regency Porter Chairs, Palm Beach Regency. If you want (or need) an extra push to buy, the iPhone app Dezyn allows you to snap or upload a photo of the pieces you’re coveting and try them out in the space you’re designing – virtually. It totally eliminates the guesswork! Which design trend do YOU like best?
