Before & After: Seaside Chic Kitchen
Located on a prime oceanfront lot with direct beach access, this home had incredible potential.
The family had purchased it as an investment: to renovate, live in temporarily and eventually sell. The interior finishes now match the property’s prestigious location and stunning ocean views.

Favourite Features
- The beach-chic aesthetic—beachy colours and textures mixed with finer materials like blown glass, marble and brushed brass—was influenced by the client’s travels to California. She specifically requested blue cabinetry.
- The open, airy look was achieved by removing the upper cabinetry surrounding the hood. That allowed for a range feature wall, with a custom white plaster hood and marble hexagon backslash.

- The windows were lined in marble tiles to eliminate the distracting trim. Now the backsplash is truly a feature.
- Carved scalloped and beaded wooden details on the barstools give them personality. The stools are upholstered in a sandy-toned performance fabric for a soft, beachy look.
- A tongue-and-groove ceiling was added and painted in a semigloss white for a bit of shine that suggests a boat-like finish.
