3 Bathroom Transformations That Will Shock You
So long, outdated bathrooms!
From powder rooms to ensuites, bathrooms are one of the most frequented rooms in your house—and they're often the most aesthetically neglected. Outdated cabinets, boring colour schemes, and poor functionality can all hinder the design of a bathroom.
In these three jaw-dropping renovations, the designers took cues from their clients wish lists and created timeless, practical spaces that will last for years to come.
A refreshed '90s-style ensuite

The first box designer Kim Charbonneau had to cross off in this spa-like ensuite renovation was straightening out the wall that divided the bathroom from the primary. The extra room created the space needed for the double vanity. To further its airy design, Charbonneau welcomed oversized tiles into the ensuite through bold yet understated “material drenching.”
“We ran the tile up the wall and onto the ceiling of the shower to create a Mediterranean feel and make the space feel more open,” she explains.
Modern country style

The homeowners dreamed of reconfiguring this room to fully make use of the space while respecting the country style of the house. The must-have? A luxe two-person shower and soaker tub.
The black trim lining the shower alcoves recalls the dark tone of the vanity hardware and framed mirrors, while a chevron backsplash creates a dynamic and elegant focal wall.
Blast from the... present?

The goal of this reno was to fit all the modern conveniences in this small bathroom while preserving the charming vintage feel of the 1950s house. Imported from Italy, the focal-point herringbone wall tile immediately captivated the clients, who are fans of its midcentury style.
