Paint Trends We're Saying Goodbye To In 2024

All good things must eventually come to an end, and that includes the paint colours on your walls.

As the year draws to a close and 2024 is just around the corner, we're bidding adieu to colours trends of the past and embracing newer, fresher shades.

Here are the paint trends that are exiting the stage in 2024:

1. Light grey

Although the black and white monochrome trend has definitely had its moment, light, steely greys are bound to leave the trend radar next year. Instead, designers are opting for darker shades, such as Behr's colour of 2024, Cracked Pepper.

2. Beige

We understand the allure of beige to anyone who loves a neutral palette. However, in 2024, we're opting for light, buttery yellows and soft pinks if we want bright walls that still add an element of coziness.

3. Orange

Yes, orange had its moment in 2023, but now we're steering away from these bright hues in favour of more earthy tones, such as terracotta and shades of brown.

4. Bright green

Green tones will never truly go out of style, but it's safe to say that we can forego bright greens for now. Instead, opt for deeper and earthier shades of olive tones.

5. Pink

Although bright pink and millennial pink had a big boost in popularity this year with the Barbie movie, we don't think it'has staying power. This doesn't mean you can't incorporate it either in different shades, such as peach and salmon, or with accents all around the house.
